NO WONDER THE GUY WON’T DO INTERVIEWS OR DEBATES Last night Victor Marx, in a sign of just how big his ego is, sat down with Kyle Clark. Kyle DID agree to go to the “compound” to get the tour of all the nifty stuff Vic has there but it obviously didn’t impress him. Clark gave a master class in how to use someone’s own words to craft questions that were too challenging for Marx to weasel out of. I legit want to send Kyle flowers for this one. Watch this if you missed it last night.
This man is in no way qualified to be Governor. And if you think Kyle was hard on him, this is just a TASTE of what Democrats have in store if he’s the candidate. Is it clear now why Progress Now says they are “scared” of him? I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time. There is no way this guy needs to be anywhere near the levers of power. It does seem like he is looking for a way to get out of the debate to me, as evidenced in this comment from Facebook:

I went there to see the comments from his followers who tried to blame Kyle Clark because Vic had to “ask Buddy” for the answers to the big questions. What a glorious trainwreck this was. GLORIOUS. The best part is Vic thought he did well. Heh.

YES, THE CAUCUS SYSTEM IS OUTDATED AND AWFUL A new report from an organization I’ve never heard of confirms what I already know: the caucus system for choosing candidates is AWFUL. Courageous Colorado seems to fit the mold of several other groups operating now that are aiming to bridge the divide and seek solutions to our problems no matter where they come from. And this new report delved into the caucus system and what they found was not good. From Channel7:
Spicer examined 26 caucuses and assemblies across both parties during the 2026 election cycle for the report titled “Colorado’s Closed Road to the Ballot: How Caucuses, Assemblies, and Petitions Shape the Colorado Democracy Paradox.”
She found counties that don’t post public notices of their meetings online, parties using dysfunctional voting apps, unreliable paper ballot systems, and burnt-out delegates from party procedures that can take hours over multiple weekends.
Well duh. This system is awful and only serves the most hardcore party faithful, and frankly, those are not the people we want to choose candidates. There must be a better way.
THE NON-PROFIT GRIFT IN THE LEGISLATURE And Complete Colorado’s Sherrie Peif writes about it here. A simple amendment that would prevent a sitting legislator or their family members from profiting from taxpayer funded grants was killed by Democrats. Why would that be? The amendment was eventually changed to exclude family members. Just how many Democrats work in the non-profit field anyway? I’d love to know the total count.

ARE WE GOING TO RAMP UP THE WAR ON IRAN AGAIN? I’ve said over and over again that anything short of regime change in Iran is a failure. I’ve been annoyed that Trump seems to think any deal he struck would be honored by the idiots who burn American flags in the Parliament. It seems maybe Trump is starting to feel that way too. Trump said in his cabinet meeting that Iran is “running on fumes” and that "Maybe we have to go back and finish it, maybe we don't." He also urged Arab leaders to sign onto the Abraham Accords, which is a total game changer. This as the “ceasefire” seems to be on shaky ground as shots are exchanged across the region. But can Iran take much more of the blockade? Its economy is dying quickly and if people can’t buy food they are much more motivated to take the streets and face death to demand regime change.
AND OUR INFLATION IS UP BECAUSE OF IT Inflation hit 3.8% in April on high gas prices directly related to the war in Iran. It would be manageable had we not just come through a period of self-inflicted inflation during covid, but it’s hurting people. We’ll see what happens, but the Fed can’t lower interest rates with that kind of inflation happening.

THE MIRACLE OF ORDER We take so much for granted in our society and we simply shouldn’t. It won’t always be this way. This a great column about that very thing. This part seemed…familiar.
The successors of the Western Roman economy reverted to barter as its monetary order collapsed, life expectancy dropped, and civilisation retreated. The Dark Ages were not as dark as Monty Python would have you believe, but they were materially poorer than what had come before, and the reason was simple: Once order is lost, everything else follows. What is clear is that the order Europeans now treat as a permanent condition is, in fact, eroding in places. Not catastrophically. The trains still run (although rarely on time), the salaries still arrive, the cash machines still dispense cash. But the assumptions that underwrite these mechanisms — that a judge will adjudicate impartially, that a passport office will follow its rules, that public money will not be quietly diverted to political clients, that the police will treat citizens identically regardless of which group they belong to — are under measurable strain. The European political class treats this as a minor administrative concern when in fact it is the slow erosion of the very fundament on which our political and social order has been built.
No one recognizes decline while it is happening. That is the part we need to pay attention to.

Well, Kyle Clark is a snake and tried a dozen ways to have Marx admit he was still beating his wife. Yeah, your point that Marx will face fiercer interrogation going forward is valid. Another consideration is that his opponents on both sides may not be any more attractive to those who want an end to our current flavor of leadership.
